Fix You

April14

By COLDPLAY

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And the tears stream, down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I…

And the tears stream, down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I…

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

The greatest is LOVE.

February11

Being a true blue Paulinian…the best definition of love for me was written by Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians:13:4-7.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I grew up knowing these passages by heart. We’ve these scriptures framed and hanged on our wall when I was young. I remember reading the words to practice my diction and reading skills. Everyday I read them aloud and somehow the words grew in me.

Love is all around

February10

For the month of February All my posts will be about LOVE to celebrate Valentine’s not just for a day.

Let’s start with one of my all-time favorite Romantic Movie: Love Actually.

love actually-movie

love actually-movie

Written and directed by Richard Curtis. It talks about love in all aspects…every time I watch this movie, I am always reminded that I am lucky to be loved in more ways than one.

One of my favorite quotes was the introduction narrated by Hugh Grant who plays the role of the Prime Minister:
“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion… love actually is all around. ”

can’t argue with that.

thankyou

The year has just started and already I feel that God is extra kind to me.Lavishing me with blessings big and small. One among which is getting a space on the internet and of course this would not have been possible without the help of Ronnie, who initiated, installed and gave free tutorials for a startup. Tenchooo

Yesterday, a televised Concert at the Park was my main event. That done, I am setting my sights on my forthcoming Graduation Recital.

I can never be thankful enough for my mom who is finishing with her sixth chemotherapy at the end of this month and showing all signs of good health and recovery.

And to the others who have entertained me, shared my high and low moments, stuck with me through thick and thin…a big big big THANK YOU!!!

And to God Almighty who is always with my family…Maraming Salamat po sa lahat ng biyaya.

Where words fail…

January13

“Where words fail, music speaks” –Hans Christian Andersen

I’ve seen myself in countless situations where I find myself at a loss for words and would gladly revert to singing or humming a few songs to express myself.
Weird, I know but it works for me.

I can’t imagine myself without music. It comes to me so naturally that I can’t remember any instance wherein I had no music in my life. If I am not listening to it, I am creating one. There are times when I hear myself humming a tune and quickly notating the melody before it escapes me.

When I was in High School I remember being able to compose a song/jingle within 5 minutes or less. I was more of a composer than a piano player then…made numerous jingles, love songs, instrumentals etc. Though I am sure my friends remember me being a “composer” I think I am still and will be best remembered as the person who loves harmonization.
There was this one time when a friend of mine introduced me to one of her other friends and she went
“Hi this is Eloise, magaling sha mag second voice…o eto sample…psst lagyan mo nga ng second voice yung “A Friend Like Me” yung kanta ng genie sa Aladdin”

Ahahahaha…like that’ll sound good. Now, if that’s not proof enough…i don’t know what is.

Resolutions

January9

I really don’t have any resolutions planned for this year. I thought I should just sail along and see how things go. But then, a nagging voice tells me, I need to plan my life. I need to stay focused. So here I am, thinking of what I really want to set out for my life. But for now, I’ll keep them to myself, okay?!

2008

January9

I’ve been meaning to write my reflections about 2008 for the past days…to no avail…ahahahaha

So here’s an attempt to summarize 2008…the year that was.

I started the year with an impromptu trip to Baguio with Melissa and Melvin, had a nondescript valentine’s day, and celebrated one of my best bud’s Graduation on March.

Second Quarter of the year was rough…just a tad bit (a lot of goodbyes)

1) One of my Best bud left for China (work)
2) A friend’s grandmother passed away
3) Learned that I have gallstones — gave me a 180 degree lifestyle change. I said goodbye to oily foods, meat, pork, fastfood, sweets, sodas…and hello to steamed and grilled chicken and fish

July ushered in the Third Quarter with some devastating news

–my mom who returned from Oman was diagnosed with breast cancer. Initially it was a shock to us but later, hope sprang eternal. The carcinoma was at its early stage and had a 100% chance of cure.
Consequently, my mom’s condition brought us spiritually and personally closer to each other, cherishing every moment of togetherness. Everyday was a day to be thankful that we were still together. And as the months eased by, the fears slowly slid away and healing comfort took over.

–as for school…everything has taken shape. I am on my way to graduation.

–work…was challenging and it was something I turned to for solace.

The Last Quarter of the year turned out to be some kind of a reunion for me and my buddies.

–it was a time to reconnect with old friends as well as make new friends.

–had my share of heartaches as well…hehehehe…learned that I’ve a dyslexic heart, but I was able to get through and move on with the help of my friends, coffee and spampy.

–and i ended the year with another road trip…this time to Ilocos with 2 of my friends. I Had a great time… :D

So…that’s it I guess…2008.

And now…I am ready to embrace 2009 bring it on!!!

Happy New Year to all!!!
